What goes into making a basketball team win? Is it the
players, Coaches or something completely different? The main reason why a
basketball team wins is because of the teams scouting report. The graduate
assistants are a main part of making it happen. The scouting report consists of
finding out the other teams tendencies as well as player tendencies. The
graduate assistants will watch countless hours of film just to try and pick up
little details about the team and its players. The graduate assistants will
then go to the actual assistant coaches and tell them what they think about the
other team and what plays they run. After this happens the coaches will then go
to the scout team and teach them the other teams plays as well as how each
player plays the game of basketball. The team then goes and watches film on
each player that normally plays in the game as well as the majority of the
plays that they usually run. Then the scout is performed in practice where the
scout team runs the other teams plays and the players that play in the game
guard them. However, since we have graduate assistants that know how to play
the game and are good, they also learn the plays and play in practice as well. The
graduate assistants play a key role in making sure that the team does what it
is supposed to do, which is perform at the highest level possibly. Once this is
done the team will hopefully get the wins that we are trying to get.
What do you do on a normal day being a graduate assistant?
What is the main for you to accomplish with this team?
What is your part in making the scouting report?
